Buy a Google Play Gift Card for South Korea

A South Korea Google Play gift card loads Google Play balance in won on the Korean store, delivered as a code the moment your payment is confirmed. The balance covers apps, games, in-game purchases, books and subscriptions sold through the Korean Play Store, so the buyer never has to put a card on the account. The ladder on this page is the part that surprises people first, because won is a high-value currency and the figures are therefore large. None of that changes what the card is worth — it is simply how the store prices. South Korea is its own store region, so the code belongs to an account whose country is set to South Korea.

Denominations on This Page

Eight denominations are listed, from 5,000 won up to 200,000 won. Those are the card's own face values in won and the amount credited to the balance, while the price you pay for each is in this page's table. The steps are written in thousands because won is priced that way: 5,000 won is a small everyday purchase and 200,000 won is a large one, which is the same real-world range that a euro store would write as two-figure and four-figure cards. Nothing unusual is happening — only the scale of the currency is different.

• 5,000 won
• 10,000 won
• 15,000 won
• 30,000 won
• 50,000 won
• 100,000 won
• 150,000 won
• 200,000 won

Which Country This Card Is For

Won is a domestic currency, so a dollar, euro or yen card is a different store region entirely and will not redeem on a Korean account; Google checks the account's country when the code is entered, not where you happen to be standing. The store itself runs in Korean, and its catalogue is the Korean one. The country setting on the account is what has to match the card — if it does, the code is accepted and the balance stays spendable in the Korean store.

What You Can Buy With a Play Balance

• Apps and games sold through the Korean Play Store, paid straight from the balance.
• In-app purchases — currency packs, passes and levels — bought through the store rather than with a foreign card.
• Subscriptions billed through the Korean Play Store, where Google's country terms allow balance to cover them.
• Books, films and TV shows in the countries where the Play Store sells them.
• Leftover credit that stays on the account for the next purchase instead of expiring.

How to Redeem

1. Sign in to the Google account that should receive the balance.
2. Open play.google.com/redeem, paste the code and select Redeem.
3. In the Play app, tap your profile picture, open Payments & subscriptions and choose Redeem code.
4. At checkout you can also open the payment-method list and pick Redeem code instead of a card.
5. Confirm the account shown, and the credit is added immediately.

Delivery

The code is digital: it appears on your order page and in your inbox automatically once the payment is confirmed, normally within minutes. Nothing is shipped and there is no plastic card in the post — what arrives is a code for the Korean Play Store, in won. If anything looks wrong with it, message live chat with the order number and the exact message on your screen, and we will check the order against it rather than asking you to guess.

Before You Buy

• The account's country has to be South Korea — Google checks that when the code is entered.
• Gift-card balance cannot be used as a family payment method.
• Redeemed balance does not move if the account's Play country changes later.
• The code is normally a 16-digit combination of numbers and letters.
